In August 2024, a VPL Rx customer made a shipment of over 500 prescriptions that were then picked up from the fulfillment center. 195 of these prescriptions were cold chain. If compromised or spoiled, the estimated cost totaled approximately $200,000.
After the pharmacy received several calls from patients whose prescriptions weren’t delivered, our Customer Care team worked to investigate the issue.
Just hours later, we found that all 500+ prescriptions were not delivered. Our team contacted the carrier, who found that an entire trailer with all 500+ shipments had not been scanned into their hub.
The carrier prioritized re-delivery, and all but two shipments were successfully recovered and delivered to patients by noon the following day.
