After recently integrating their VPL Rx workflow with PioneerRx, Tabatha Hamilton of Pikeville Medical Center Specialty Pharmacy sat down with us to share how the integration has benefited her team.

How it’s going

With PioneerRx integrated directly into VPL Rx’s shipping solution, Pikeville can now house all its shipping and tracking information within a single platform. This saves Hamilton’s team hours each week by optimizing shipping workflows and consolidating data in one place.

For example, Hamilton noted that it’s much faster and easier for her team to locate missing packages using the PioneerRx integration.

“If a patient calls in and says they haven’t received a package, we used to log in to multiple websites to find it. Now, we can open the patient’s PioneerRx profile and see exactly where it is,” she said.

As a high-volume specialty pharmacy, the PioneerRx integration also allows Pikeville to pre-print labels and schedule their shipments in advance to plan for busy shipping days.

“It’s exceptionally helpful to be able to pre-make our labels ahead of time,” said Hamilton. “It saves us a lot of time and stress.” She added, “Being able to print proof of delivery in the same platform will also be very helpful for the audit process.”
